The world priorities thinness. And this can impact the visuals we see, collect and share. It can be helpful to make an active effort to think about the diversity of sizes in our creative visuals. But finding them can be part of the challenge.
This is a collection of suggestions around sourcing images of bigger bodies. This could be for creative inspiration or references you bring in spaces.
On Pinterest you can now filter by body type - this helps you find diverse bodies or match pins similar to your own.
I've also created an ongoing board on Pinterest for a place to help diversify your boards, references or feeds. Access that here
To the left - Shoog McDaniel is an incredible photographer who photographs fat bodies. I've found their work useful for creative inspiration or vision boards especially themes on romance, queerness, fat joy and nature. https://shoogmcdaniel.com/ Photo credit: Shoog McDaniel Fat Art History - An Instagram account (useful in helping diversify your feed). This can be helpful for those interested in historical context or working with different periods or artistic references. See @fatarthistory on Instagram.
